MAKING
Guarnieri, bratsche, restauro, bowmaker, bow, arco
From the search for wood, in the sawmill, it goes to the workshop where, after long seasoning, construction begins.
On the inner form, which is the traditional Italian method, the baseboards are glued. These blocks are given the shape of the tips, and always on them will be glued the sides. Having obtained the line of the instrument, the top and back are cut. The carving of the doming is begun, and having finished this the inside of both is carved out, until a certain thickness is reached. On the board the effs are cut, with knife and file, and the chain is glued on. Once the case is closed, the edge is filed and filleted. The neck is first carved and later set into the case. Brush painting coats the instrument and protects it over time.
